GUPPY was published in November 2023 and is the first of three interlinking literary novels. James plans on publishing the second, HERRING, in 2024 and the third in the series, PIKE, in 2025. He is currently under contract to write a monograph titled VIRGINIA WOOLF'S MICROGENESIS: MENTAL STATES AND CONCEPTUAL WORLDS for the Routledge Studies in Twentieth Century Literature Series.
